George J. Werner

George J. Werner, 92, Fort Atkinson, died on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Fort Atkinson.

He was born on November 14, 1919 in Fort Atkinson, the son of the late William and Ottilia (Schuld) Werner.

George married Myrtle Kraus of Fort Atkinson on June 18, 1941 in Fort Atkinson. She died on April 6, 1980.

He had farmed in the Town of Milford, worked at Heavy Duty in Watertown and most recently at the former Crepaco Inc. in Lake Mills, retiring in 1982.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Ann Werner and Diana Baumann both of Fort Atkinson; five grandchildren, Lori (Jerry) Schwab, Dennis (Sara) Baumann, Jeffrey (Tanya) Baumann, Gregory Baumann and Melissa Baumann all of Fort Atkinson; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Also preceding in death was a brother, Paul Werner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Brian J. Wilk as celebrant.

Family burial services will be held at a later date in the Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Dunlap Memorial Home and after 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church until the time of service.
