Michael John Baumann, 74, passed away at UW Hospital in Madison on
March 25th, 2024.
He was born on June 1st, 1949, in Watertown to Harold and Arline
(Kaercher) Baumann.
He married Earline “Judy” Baker on June 27th, 1970, at St. Lawrence
Catholic Church in Jefferson. They had two children, Deanna and Daniel.
He worked at Schweiger for many years and Monterey in Janesville for
many years until they closed. He retired and lived life full of
adventure.
He loved to be outside, purchase “fixer-uppers” and tinker with things
in his garage. He had a love for hunting, fishing, old cars, boats,
and tractors. He loved attending the car show and the thresheree. His
love for his family was unmatched. He would tell stories of his
childhood and growing up to anyone who would listen. He loved spending
time with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. His favorite
thing to do though was watch westerns and old TV shows with their dog
Rosie. He loved John Wayne.
Survivors include his wife Earline “Judy” Baumann; their children,
Deanna Baumann and Daniel (Christine) Baumann, all of Fort Atkinson;
grandchildren, Megan Baumann of Janesville, Angelica (Jeffrey
Greenwood) Baumann of Janesville, Daniel (Clara) Baumann of Fort
Atkinson, Isabelle (Trevor) Sherven of Madison, Michaela (Jordan
Greenwood) Baumann of Janesville, Patrick (Jailee Coplein) Baumann of
Fort Atkinson; great grandchildren, Lyra, Emma, Dale, Nicole, Michael,
Oliver, Olivia, Frankie; three sisters, Shirley (Larry) McKee of
Delavan, Carol Strom of Jefferson, Donna (Dave) Conkle of Whitewater;
two sisters-in-law, Diana Baumann of Fort Atkinson, Rita Baumann of
Jefferson; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Jerry
Baumann; sister, Barbara Baumann; nephew, Jeff Baumann; niece, Sharon
Strom-Gundersen; and great granddaughter, Payton Jacobson.
The family invites you to join them for a Mass of Christian Burial to
be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Saturday
at the church until the time of service. Burial will be in St.
Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Jefferson.
