Nancy Sage Obituary

Nancy S. Sage, 77, of North Fort Myers, FL formerly of Fort Atkinson, passed away on March 13, 2024,

Nancy was born on September 7, 1946 in Freeport, IL daughter of the late John and Lillian (Protheroe) Loos. She married Danny Sage on July 22, 1972 in Rockford, IL.

Nancy loved football and was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Her legacy will live on in the family due to her passing on old world recipes to her grandchildren that she learned to cook from her grandparents. She was quite fond of her work at Midwest Express Airlines in Madison. It was new work for her and she made lasting friendships and it sparked a love of travel. She experienced many travel excursions including Spain, Costa Rica, Jamacia, France, Mexico and most recently the Smoky Mountains last summer with her children and grandkids. She always wanted to make a trip to Wales to trace her family roots, but it never came to fruition.

Her father died when she was 5 years old, so knowing family history was important to her. She was very close with her father’s parents. Known as Nana to her grandchildren, as her grandmother Loos was known to her. She had many craft like hobbies including beadwork, jewelry, crochet, knitting and ceramics. Her greatest joy was being able to see her grandchildren perform in their activities on the court and onstage.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Danny; son, Robbie (Kristina) Sage of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Nicole (Brian) Becker, of Cottage Grove, WI; grandchildren, Reghan, Aspen, Chandler and Max Sage and Andrew and Lillian Adoba. She is also survived by her sister, Betty (Terry) Wescom of Loves Park, IL and sister-in-law, Sandy Loos of Fort Myers, FL. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Loos and sister, Barb Higar.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the church until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
