Alice Scullin Obituary

Alice L. (Brown) Scullin passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Blackhawk Senior Residence in Fort Atkinson.

Alice was born in Galahad, Alberta, Canada in 1917 to Lenora (Campbell) and Benito D. Brown. The Brown family moved back to Fort Atkinson in 1925. Alice graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1935 and received her BS Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Home Economics- Education in 1940.

She worked at the Badger Munitions Ordinance Plant during WWII and taught in Ontario, WI, Genoa City, WI, and Stoughton, WI, before marrying Daniel A. Scullin October 11, 1947. She also taught General Science at J.F. Luther Junior High School from 1966 to 1970. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, furniture refinishing and re-upholstery. She was a 4 H leader and was a sewing projects judge for the Jefferson County Fair.

She is survived by her six children Eileen (Bill) Foskett, Jefferson, E. Maureen McGarrigle, Phoenix, AZ., Patricia (Norm) Gruber, Marquette, MI., Margaret (Peggy) Thomas, Madison, WI., Dan (Debbie) Scullin, Madison, WI., Terry Scullin, Fort Atkinson, WI. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren Brad (Sarah) Foskett, Ann Foskett, Amy McGarrigle (James) Jorgensen, Beth Gruber, Trevor Thomas, Troy Thomas, Laurel Scullin (Jed) Draeger, DJ (Sara) Scullin, Katie Scullin, Chris (Jeff) Bogie, Stephanie Scullin, and Alex Marie Scullin. She is also survived by six great grandchildren Nash and Linc Foskett, Owen Bogie, Julius and Jocelyn Draeger and Mason Marabelli. She was pre-deceased by her husband Dan in 1991 and her parents, brothers Kenneth, Maynard and sister, Elizabeth (Jerry) Wiseman.

The family wishes to thank the staff, past and present, of the Blackhawk Senior Residence for almost 14 years of outstanding care and dedication and also special thanks to Rainbow Hospice.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Friends may call from 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Church until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to WRAP (Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer Prevention), Rainbow Hospice, St. Josephs Catholic Church or a charity of donors choice.
