Antonina Nina Marino, 97, Fort Atkinson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 22, 2011.
She was born on June 12, 1914 in Prizzi, Sicily, Italy, the daughter of the late Francesco and Dominica (Marino) Accomando.
Nina married Joseph Marino on September 7, 1935 in Prizzi. He died on April 13, 1963.
She joined her husband in the United States in late December 1937 and has lived in Fort Atkinson ever since.
Nina worked a number of years at the former Moe Light in Fort Atkinson, and most recently was employed by Countryside in Jefferson for sixteen years in the dietary department. She retired in April of 1983.
She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church.
Nina enjoyed playing cards and visiting her homeland.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Anna Accomando of Fort Atkinson; a nephew, Franco Accomando of Viola; a niece, Mimma (Joe) Nelson of Fort Atkinson; good friends, Ann Root of Fort Atkinson and Judy Smith of Cambridge; other nieces and nephews in Italy, and other friends.
Also preceding in death was a brother Pietro Accomando of Fort Atkinson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Brian J. Wilk as celebrant.
Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
There will be a parish rosary at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to the mass.
Memorials may be made to the church or Rainbow HospiceCare of Jefferson.
