Arthur F. Buchholtz, Jr., 79, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Fort Memorial Hospital.
Art was born on December 23, 1932 in Fort Atkinson, son of the late Arthur and Norma (Clark) Buchholtz. He married Juliett Dot Edmundson on November 27, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson.
Art graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1950. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1955. He had worked at Jones Dairy Farm in maintenance for 45 years.
Art had been very active in sports. He was the Louisiana State bowling champion in 1955, he made a hole-in-one at Spring Creek Golf Center in 1997 and was an avid Badger, Packer and Brewer fan. He was also a very skilled stained glass artist and would always have a puzzle he was working on.
Art is survived by his wife Juliett Dot; children, Cheryl (Dave) Dobson, Debra (Gary) Poeppel and Wendy (Andy) Powers all of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Emily (Nathan) Dunlap, Nicole (Sam) Anhalt, Jessica (Jason) Hare, Jason and Nathan Poeppel and Karissa and Michaela Powers; brother, Gene (Barbara) Buchholtz of Fort Atkinson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson with Pastor Bryan Engfer officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of service. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church.
