Barry Lueck, age 56, passed away unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism on April 24, 2024 in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Barry’s bigger-than-life personality and generous heart are a great loss to his family, and especially to his wife of 32 years, Heidi Gensmer Lueck. Barry and Heidi shared a special bond and deep friendship throughout their years together.
Barry was a renaissance man whose spirit, passion for goodness, and love of adventure cannot be captured in a few words. He accepted challenges with tenacity, loved without reserve, relished a spirited conversation, ran through life without fear, and never lost his curiosity about man and his place in this world.
Barry was one of two boys born to Bette and Richard Lueck and raised with his brother, Brady, in Ft Atkinson. After graduating, Barry started honing his considerable talent and energy to become skilled as an independent contractor and eventually started his own business. When not working, Barry enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and passing on his knowledge to many, especially his nephew, Tim Rossing.
Barry and Heidi lived in Madison most of their married life and shared a passion for all Wisconsin sports, especially the Milwaukee Brewers. When they weren’t watching sports the two had a great time as members of a local Madison kickball league. Barry and Heidi recently moved to Park Falls to enjoy the quieter outdoor life of Northern Wisconsin.
Barry is survived by his wife and soulmate Heidi, his brother and partner in crime Brady, Brady’s two children, Olivia and Cameron, sisters-in-law Mary (Kevin) Kuzdas, Linda Gensmer, Ann Peters, Sue (Paul) Marquardt, Sandy (Eugene) Rossing, brother-in-law Greg Miller, and 16 other nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by both parents, his brother-in-law Richard Gensmer and sister-in-law Debbie Miller.
A celebration of life is being planned for this summer in Fort Atkinson.
