Beverly J. Sorenson, 84, Fort Atkinson, was received into the hands of the Lord on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Sienna Crest in Fort Atkinson, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 11, 1926 in Fort Atkinson, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Plum) Bauer.
Beverly married Clifford A. Sorenson on March 25, 1948 at her parents home.
She was a graduate of the Fort Atkinson High School, class of 1943. Following graduation, Beverly entered the Cadet Nursing Program at the Methodist Hospital in Madison and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, receiving her registered nurse degree in 1947. She practiced nursing in Madison, Chicago, Bend, Oregon, and Fort Atkinson, both at the old hospital on Madison Avenue and the new hospital on East Sherman Avenue.
Beverly was a member Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Clifford; two daughters, Judith (George) Pesanka of Plover, Sharon Haus of Mesa, AZ; grandsons, Geoffrey Pesanka of Glendale, AZ, Ryan (Kelly) Pesanka of Charlotte, N.C., Andrew (Yi-Chen) Haus of Scottsdale, AZ; Jonathan (Lisa) Haus of Madison; and one great-granddaughter, Valerie Haus of Madison.
Also preceding in death were two granddaughters, Tanya Pesanka and Leanne Haus.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bryan J. Engfer and Stephanie Beran officiating.
Burial will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
