Carol E. Erdmann

With Sadness and Love we share that Carol E. Erdmann of Fort Atkinson went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2025.

Carol was born on November 4, 1935, to Gertrude and Harvey Hallman. She grew up in Milwaukee and eventually settled in Fort Atkinson where she raised her 6 children with Harry Gutermuth.

She was a caring CNA for most of her life and attended Rhema Bible Training College in Oklahoma after retirement.

Carol was a devout Christian who spread God’s word wherever she went. Her generosity and love felt deeply by her family and friends.

She is survived by 4 of her children, Joanne (Bill Long) Larson, Catherine Gutermuth, Kurt Gutermuth, all of Fort Atkinson and Cheryl (Jerry Schrom) Barnett of Loves Park, IL. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren,  Christopher  (Melanie Marvinkovic) Fritzsche, Michelle (Brian Breest) Smith, Anna (Kevin) Dresdow, Chad Gutermuth, Adam (Sarah Stewart) Larson, Mark (Renee) Bardenwerper Jr., Cynthia Johnson (Baron French), Conrad Belleau (Carrie Webb), Nic ( Christine) Barnett, Ethan (Lisa Seavert) Steinbach, Noah Steinbach, Kaytlin Gutermuth and Blake Gutermuth;  22 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, her sister Judith (John) Bardenwerper and many nieces and nephews.

Carol is predeceased by her husband(s), Duwayne Erdmann, Harry Gutermuth and Daniel Belleau; parents, Harvey Hallman, Gertrude (Clarence) Pohlman; her sisters, Beverly (Marvin) Klein and Claudette Hallman; her daughters, Theresa Endl and Roberta Schoenecke and 2 of her grandchildren, Donald Weber and Daniel Belleau.

The family would like to thank Rainbow Hospice for providing excellent end-of-life care. Also, a special mention to her grandson, Chad Gutermuth, who did a wonderful job caring for her in her final days.

A memorial visitation will be held at Dunlap Memorial Home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 4-6 PM.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Helenville, WI.
