It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend and sister, Connie Jean Heffron, on March 6, 2025. Connie passed while sleeping during a brief stay in hospice care, surrounded by those who cherished her. Born December 28, 1954, in Fort Atkinson, she was the only daughter of the late William and Carole (Wolfe) Heffron.
Connie had a zest for life, a love for music and dancing, and cherished week-long trips with her beloved group of card-playing, casino-loving, beach-going friends, basking in the sun at their favorite seaside resorts.
A loyal fan of the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers, she shared her enthusiasm for sports and life with her long-time partner Bill and everyone else she met. Connie was a favorite bartender in the area for many years, where her caring nature shone brightly, before entering the magazine publishing field in more recent years. Her presence was a true embodiment of love and kindness, making her the true glue of the Heffron family.
Connie is survived by her brothers, Michael Heffron, Patrick Heffron and Timothy Heffron; sister-in-law, Kathleen Heffron; nephew, Brent Heffron, and her partner and travel companion Bill Keelty. She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest brother, David Heffron.
At her wish, a private service will be held for family. A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at a later date.
Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
