Donald William Clavey passed away peacefully at home with family and friends after fighting pancreatic cancer for several months on Tuesday, July 5, 2011.
Don was born in Highland Park, IL on May 29, 1947
Upon graduating from Fort Atkinson High School in 1966, he served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 doing a one-year tour in Viet Nam.
He married Carol Schultz on August 9, 1969 in Fort Atkinson.
Don worked for Nestle Purina for 30 years where he served as Union Steward for several years and was a member of Teamsters Local 695.He retired in May 2010.
Don loved country living, helping neighbors/family/friends when needed, gardening, truck and tractor pulls, woodworking,movies and playing dominoes.
Don is survived by his wife, Carol; AFS daughter, Doris Glykys from Venezuela now living in NJ; three brothers: David of Strum, WI, Raymond (Jodie) of Cambria, WI and Richard (Cheryl) of Whitewater, WI; nieces and nephews;Father/Mother-in-law, Gene & Inez Hoeye of Fort Atkinson.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Louise Kuban.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Dunlap Memorial Home. Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, until time of service.
