Doris B. Bauer

Doris B. Bauer, 95, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Blackhawk Senior Residence.
Doris was born on October 9, 1915 daughter of John and Ida (Zade) Fromader. She married William R. Bauer of Beaver Dam on May 24, 1941 in Fort Atkinson. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1980.
Doris was a lifelong resident of Fort Atkinson, graduating from Fort Atkinson High School and working for the Daily Jefferson County Union for 24 years. She was a member of Grace United Church, the Edwin Frohmader V.F.W. Post 1879 Auxiliary, the Paul Frank Florine Post 166 American Legion Auxiliary and the Fort Atkinson Thrift Shop Auxiliary.
Doris is survived by her children, William J. (Marilyn) Bauer Sr. of Fort Atkinson and Barbara Esch of Polson, MT; grandchildren, Army Specialist Michael (Nadja) Bauer of Germany, B.J. Bauer of Fort Atkinson, Brian (Julie) Esch of Wauwatosa and Rebecca (Christopher) Henkel of Madison; great-grandchildren, Jillian and Devin Kay Esch; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Doris was also preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Scullin and Ethel Bare and brothers, John and Austin Fromader.
Private family graveside services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. A celebration of Doris life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Fort Atkinson VFW. Memorials may be made to either Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson County or the Humane Society of Jefferson County. The family wishes to thank the staff of Blackhawk Senior Residence and Rainbow Hospice for their loving care of Doris.
