Earl Holmes Obituary

Earl Wayne Holmes, Fort Atkinson, died peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the Golden Living Center.

He was born on February 28, 1950 in Rensselaer, Indiana, a son of the late Earl and Erma (Stahnke) Holmes.

Earl attended school in Fort Atkinson and the Chicagoland area.
He enjoyed being a true Chicago sports fan, but also cheered on the Packers (when they were not playing DA-Bears).
Earl worked at various businesses in Wisconsin and Illinois.

He enjoyed sports, music, movies, cars, and staying current on the news. Earl had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Holmes; two granddaughters, Jazmine and Hannah all of Fort Atkinson; brothers, Clifford (Denise) Holmes of Oswego, IL, Sherwood (Donna) Holmes of Jefferson, Patrick Holmes of Wisconsin Dells, and Darrell (Cheryl) Holmes of Wheaton, IL; sisters, Sandra (Steven) Mullen of Fort Collins, CO, and Darlene (Walter) Witte of Fort Atkinson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Earl was also preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Rodger; three sisters, June Pilgrim, Shirley Rimmer, and Nancy Della Holmes.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Dunlap Memorial Home.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Memorial Home and after 10 a.m. on Thursday until the time of service.

Memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice Care Inc. of Jefferson or the American Cancer Society.

The family sincerely appreciates the kind and loving care that the staff at Golden Living and Rainbow Hospice showed to Earl while he was in their care.
