On August 9, 2025, our father Edward Talavera passed on to join his wife Laura Lynn Turner Talavera.
Edward was born Saturday, October 1, 1955, in Uvalde, TX. Edward Uriegas Talavera came to light up the world with his presence. He served in the Navy from July 1976 before being discharged with Honors in April of 1981. He was stationed in Charleston, SC. In light of Edwards’ humor, and with great regards to his smile, he definitely had a wit about him. His creativity, passion for guitar, purpose for his daughters and love for his family and friends will forever remain in hearts of those who knew him. He had an evergreen spirit, one which made relationships and memories that stand the test of time. He was a true father and friend. We will keep him alive within us through generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Maria "Refugia" Talavera.
He will be greatly missed by his family: his brothers Homer (Maria Elena) Talavera, Julian Talavera, and James Talavera; sisters Christine T. Tabares, Rosaria T. Compean, and Cecilia T. (George) Martinez; children Christy Talavera, Sonia (Jason Griffin) Talavera, Charlene Talavera, and Stormy Cain; and grandchildren Averial Orchard, Lauren Orchard, Isabelle Griffin, Reign Wedell, Joshua Wedell, Eminence Talavera, and Lux Talavera.
Private services will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery with gathering to follow.
