Esther Minnie Larsen

Esther M. Larsen, 99, Fort Atkinson, died on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Fort Memorial Hospital.

She was born on July 5, 1913 in the Town of Oakland, the daughter of the late Paul and Helena (Ehrke) Lange.

Esther married Leo Larsen on December 5, 1937 in Cambridge. He died on February 21, 2000.

She was a graduate of the Cambridge High School.

Esther and Leo had farmed in the Cambridge and Fort Atkinson area until 1965 when they moved to Fort Atkinson.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne (Barb) of Mayville, Arlan of Fort Atkinson; one daughter, Bonnie Larsen of LaCrosse; five grandchildren, Michael (fiance, Jacque) Gilbertson, Scott Larsen, Karin (Eric) Swanson, Larissa Larsen, Kacey Larsen; three great-grandchildren, Alexis and Cody Gilbertson, Tyler Swanson; other relatives and friends.

Also preceding in death were two sisters, Margaret Lange and an infant Eleanor Lange.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of service.

Burial will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery in Cambridge following a luncheon at the church.

If desired, memorials may be made to the church, St. Pauls Lutheran School, Lakeside Lutheran High School or the Fort Parks and Recreation Department.
