Florence Marie (Haberl) Bergman, 82, of Whitewater, passed away January 21, 2014 at Fairhaven Retirement Community in Whitewater.
Florence was the first child born to Joseph and Annie Haberl on November 24, 1931 in Fort Atkinson. She was joined by three brothers; John (Loraine), Ed and Jerry (Rachel). She married Richard Bergman on June 22, 1952. Together they moved to Whitewater and began their family of four boys, Rick (Lucy) of Lake Geneva, James (Jill) and David (Christine) both of Whitewater and Thomas (Paula) of Fort Atkinson.
She was employed by the Whitewater Unified School District and was recognized for over 25 years of outstanding service.
Floss will join her beloved Dick who passed away on November 2, 1996. In addition to her children and brothers, she leaves behind seven grandchildren, Jamie (David) Hawkins of Pell Lake, Jaclyn (Jesse) Kraft of Ixonia, Nikki Bergman (JD Garfield) of Springfield, MO, Jenna (Stephen Baumhofer) of Edgerton, Michael Bergman of Lake Geneva and Clarice and Benjamin Bergman of Whitewater; three great grandchildren, Benjamin, Bradon and Hannah and her sister-in-law Innes Bergman of California.
Floss was quite a character with a great sense of humor. She quickly made friends with each person she met. Floss loved her family and looked forward to spending time together. She inspired her sons to become great cooks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 1225 W. Main Street in Whitewater. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of service. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
The Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
