Gary Christian Obituary

Gary H. Christian, 67, Fort Atkinson, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013, at the
Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek with his family by his side.

He was born on August 23, 1946 in Oxford, New York, the son of the late Fitzhugh and Mary (Davis) Christian.

Gary married Ann Steffen on December 26, 1972 in Jefferson
.
He was a graduate of the Oxford Academy in Oxford, New York.

Gary served in the U.S. Army (1966-1968) during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, a life member of the Edwin Frohmader V.F.W. Post #1879, the Paul Frank Florine American Legion Post #166, and a life member of the D.A.V. Post #39.

Gary had been employed in the custodial department at UW-Whitewater for 25 years.

He enjoyed his grandchildren, the Packers, and took great pride in his home.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; daughter, Tammy (Keith) Wild of Lake Mills; four grandchildren, Alex Weber, Kyle, Abagail and Jacob Wild; siblings, Alma (Bill) VanWiEren of Norwich, NY, Linn (Marie) Christian of Oxford, NY, Grant (Kathy) Christian of Norwich, NY, Allan Christian of New Lisbon, WI, Sandra (Larry) Carlin of Lapine, OR; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul A. Scharrer officiating.
Burial with military rites will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church until the time of service.

If desired, memorials may be made to Rainbow HospiceCare Inc. of Jefferson or the Jefferson County Humane Society.
