Harold R. “Dick” Lewis, born January 31, 1943, passed away on November 8, 2025, after a courageous battle with dementia.
Harold was a hardworking man who deeply loved his family and never missed an opportunity to share a joke. He touched the lives of many with his outgoing warmth and humor and never knew a stranger. He loved the outdoors, and you could always find him outside tinkering with something, keeping busy in the fresh air.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lily Lewis. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Donna J. Lewis; his children, Darren (Mandy) Lewis of Whitewater, WI, Deanna (Randy) Barnes of Cornelius, NC, and Dori Lewis of Schaumburg, IL; and his beloved dog, Boots. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Morgan and Ava Barnes, Skye Binkowski, and Adele and Jaelyn Hunt and brothers, Gene and Jim Lewis of Janesville.
During his time at Mulberry Glen Memory Care, Harold was affectionately known as “Lewie” by the staff. His family is deeply grateful to the entire Mulberry Glen team for the compassion, kindness, and laughter they shared with him throughout the past year, especially during his final days. The family also extends sincere appreciation to Rainbow Hospice for their gentle and supportive care.
At Harold’s request, there will be no service. A private graveside memorial with immediate family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Albert’s Dog Lounge Rescue in Whitewater, WI (albertsdoglounge.org).
Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
