Jim "Rocky" Haubenschild, 79, of Fort Atkinson, died on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at home.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1931, in Fort Atkinson, the son of the late Agnes (Ziegler) Haubenschild.
Jim married Margaret Anderson on Feb. 19, 1955, in Fort Atkinson. She died on Aug. 25, 1989.
Rocky was a graduate of the Fort Atkinson High School, class of 1948.
He entered the U.S. Air Force following high school. Jim served from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean War.
Jim was employed by the Wisconsin Electric Power Company for 34 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a 55-year member of the IBEW Local 2150.
Rocky enjoyed his Chevy cars, NASCAR, and taking pride in his home and yard.
Survivors include his children, Mark (Karen) Haubenschild of Fort Atkinson, Steve (Nancy) Haubenschild of Waukesha, Karen (John) Stelse of Fort Atkinson and Laurie (George) Sayre of Jefferson; grandchildren, Haley Krebs, Monica and Perry Haubenschild, Tim, Anne and Ryan Haubenschild, Dustin and Kali Stelse, Candice Johnson and Greg Sayre; sister, Jean (Bob) Neubert of Fort Atkinson; very special friend, Karen Ganser of Fort Atkinson; godchild, Sonya DelCamp of Jackson; other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. with Father Jay Poster as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the church until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice Care Inc. of Jefferson or Visiting Angels.
The Dunlap Memorial Home is assisting the family.
