Jane F. Batien, 63, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at her home.
Jane was born on November 7, 1947 in Fort Atkinson, daughter of the late Clifford and Marjorie Allen Buchholtz. She married David R. Batien at Trinity Lutheran Church on December 20, 1968. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2006.
Jane graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1965 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Janesville in 1968 and was employed by Fort Memorial Hospital since that time, mainly working nights in the ER. She also worked with the Lions Eye Bank and was an advocate for organ donation. She also worked for many years with Kutz Ambulance in transporting critical patients. In 2000 Jane returned to school and became a medical coding specialist, continuing to work for the hospital.
She was a Girl Scout leader and served with the Trinity Youth Group and assisted with Sunday school. She loved reading, camping, traveling and her many dogs.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Jodi (Dana) Perham and Kristi Batien (fianc Joka); grandchildren, Billy, Morgan and Dakota Perham, Tyrice Batien, Jaiden Tanksley and Jermarius Farmer; brother, John (Emy) Buchholtz; son-in-law, Todd Carlson; nieces and nephews, Bill (Lyn) Buchholtz, Jeanne (Anthony) Mendez and Brian Buchholtz; her Diva Ginger; other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Batien Carlson (2006); father-in-law Harry; mother-in-law, Ruth; brother-in-law Charles and niece, Tonya Lenz.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Beyer officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of service. Private burial will take place at Melendys Prairie Cemetery in Eagle on Monday.
Memorials may be made to the scholarship fund established in her daughters name for the EMT/Paramedic program.
