Jase Owen Block

Jase Owen Block, age 13, passed peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison following an accident, leaving behind a community that will remember his bright spirit, gentle heart, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

Jase was born on August 9, 2012, in Fort Atkinson and had just finished 8th grade at Fort Atkinson Middle School, where he was known for being uplifting in his classroom and throughout the school. He carried himself with a quiet kindness that stood out to teachers, classmates, and friends alike. Ridiculously polite, humble, and modest, Jase had a way of making others feel seen and appreciated. He was the kind of young person whose presence made a room feel lighter, and his sincerity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He loved riding his bike and was especially excited when he got his new one. He enjoyed doing wheelies and spending time outdoors, where he felt most alive and free. Hiking, camping, and sleeping outdoors brought him great happiness, and he embraced each adventure with enthusiasm. Jase also had a deep love for movies, especially Avatar, and he looked forward to birthdays and holidays with great excitement. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether he was spending time at the Fort Atkinson Aquatic Center, going to McDonald’s, or enjoying the company of his beloved dogs, Arial, Boo, Nova and Navi as well as beloved cats, Paisley and Bob.

Jase was also an excellent drawer with a natural artistic ability that reflected his creativity and imagination. He was thoughtful, giving, and sharing, and he had a generous spirit that touched those around him. His creativity and kindness were evident in the way he lived each day, and he approached life with a rare combination of energy and warmth. Though only 13 years old, he lived life to the fullest and made the most of every moment he was given.

As an organ donor, Jase gave the gift of life to others in his passing. His life will continue on in many lives he has saved and helped, a lasting testament to his compassion and the enduring impact of his brief but meaningful time on earth. His memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who loved him and to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Jase is survived by his mother, RyAnn (Tom Cornford) Bixler; father, Jason Block; siblings, Noelle, Jacob and Karlie Blanchar and Elijah Block; maternal grandparents, Sandra and Joe Nowotny and paternal grandparents, Ted Block and Irene Eighmy and aunt, Julie Kaplan. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dale Bixler.

The family will be hosting a celebration of Jase’s life at the Fort Atkinson Family Aquatic Center on Saturday, August 8 (the day before he would have turned 14) from 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM with a tree planting ceremony afterwards in his honor/memory in the surrounding area near the aquatic center.
