It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of a beloved husband, family member, and friend, Jay Homb, who left us far too soon on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Jay will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, whose greatest joy was sharing life’s moments—both big and small—with his wife Kari. Their bond was one of unwavering support, laughter, and deep companionship. Together, they built a life rooted in love, resilience, and mutual respect.
A dear member of his family, Jay always offered a kind word, a helping hand, or a steady presence when it mattered most. His warmth, generosity, and quiet strength touched the lives of those around him in lasting ways. Whether through shared meals, conversations, simple acts of kindness, or playing 18 holes on his favorite course, he created memories that will be held close forever.
Among friends, Jay was known for his loyalty, humor, and genuine spirit. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His friendships were deep and meaningful, a testament to who he was as a person.
Jay was preceded in death by his father Gerry Homb and Nancy Homb Brecklin – his mother whom he deeply loved and cherished. He is survived by his wife of many years, Kari R. Homb, his sisters, Kris Jahnke (Jerry) and Kathy Homb, and his brother Mick Homb (Leanne). He is also survived by his beloved godchildren, nieces, and nephews.
While working for Dean Foods and Dairy Farmers of America for over 30 years, Jay was known for his quick wit, comprehensive applied knowledge of production and distribution, and his ability to address challenges with efficiency, accuracy, and humor.
Though his passing was sudden and unexpected, his legacy is one of love, integrity, and connection. He will be deeply missed by his wife, extended family, dear friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. In this time of profound loss, we find comfort in the memories he gave us and the love he shared so freely. He will forever remain in our hearts.
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 10th from 9:00 a.m. until noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The funeral Mass will immediately follow the Visitation. Burial will take place on Saturday April 11th at 11:00 a.m., at Arlington Park Cemetery, 4141 S. 27th Street, Greenfield, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, with “Jay Homb Angel Fund” noted in the memo.
