Jean D. Wollin, 85, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
Jean was born on June 25, 1927 in Ironwood, Michigan, daughter of the late Arnold and Mildred (Daly) Basso. She married Kenneth Wollin in Milwaukee on June 30, 1947.
Jean very much enjoyed going out to eat and trying everything on the menu and developing many friendships at various restaurants. She loved big band music and on Sunday mornings she would be listening to Morning Mystery Tunes on WFAW. She was an avid coupon cutter and recipe saver; she always tried to make something different for all her gatherings. However, most of all she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children, Diane (Rex) Henderson of Wasilla, AK, Debra Dietzman of Fort Atkinson, Jeff Wollin of Milwaukee and Scott (Renee) Wollin of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Tami Thunander, Lance (Amanda) Wollin, Tim Dietzman, Lindie Wollin, Lisa Wollin, MeLanie Hatch, Tracy Arevalo, Jessica Wollin and Isaac Wollin; great grandchildren, Sierra Hatch, Ava Hatch and Kinsley Wollin and daughter-in-law, Teri Marshall. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Michael.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church until time of service. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
A special thank you to the Fort Atkinson Dialysis Center, Golden Living Center, Brightstar and Rainbow Hospice for all the wonderful care you had given mom.
We will miss her terribly, but we will take comfort in the fact that she is beyond the pain and suffering that marked her last weeks with her family. In so many ways, she still is here for us, in all she has taught us and in our memories of the good times of love, delight and enthusiasm shared.
