Joann E. Miller, 78, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 at Willowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake Mills.
Joann was born on October 6, 1935 in Burlington, daughter of the late Edwin and Laura (Krohn) Albrecht. She grew up in Lake Geneva and graduated in 1953 from high school.
She had a long career as a legal secretary in Whitewater and worked for many years as a secretary in the Jefferson County District Attorneys office. She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables and baking pie and bread. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
Joann is survived by her sons; Tim of Fort Atkinson, Mark (Susie) Miller of Fort Atkinson and John (Tracie Findlay) of Whitewater; daughter, Cindy (Chuck Fowler) Miller of Fort Atkinson; son-in-law Mike Hoekstra of Sayner; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Dwaine (Ruth Ann) Albrecht, Robert (Marge) Albrecht, Stan (Lucy) Albrecht and Denny Albrecht; sister, Darlene (Bill) Blosser; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband Fred; daughter, Pam Hoekstra; granddaughter, Heather Miller; and her long-time companion, David Miller.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth A. Comstock officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home until time of service. Burial will take place in Hebron Cemetery.
