Jon Lamrouex Obituary

Jon Mitchell Lamrouex, age 68 of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI surrounded by loved ones.  He now rests in the arms of our Lord. Jon was a devoted husband, a cherished father and grandfather, brother and a friend to all who knew him. He will leave behind a legacy of love, innovation, and unwavering support for his loved ones.

Jon was the son of Clarence D. Lamrouex Jr. and Beverly D. (Schneider) Lamrouex.  He was born on April 26, 1957 in Wuerzburg, Germany.  Jon’s academic journey was marked by excellence and passion. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Business from Northern Illinois University. Jon also served in the US Army, a period during which he not only served for his country but also laid the foundation for a distinguished career.

Professionally for the last 13 years he excelled as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Product Development Manager at Tandemloc Inc. in Havelock, North Carolina. There, he designed over a thousand custom lifting equipment solutions, developed cutting-edge software tools, and spearheaded innovative new product lines. Prior to Jon’s tenure at Tandemloc, Jon had been President & COO of the Caldwell Group where he had influenced the industry with his extraordinary talent.

Survived by his loving wife Joann (Lueck) Lamrouex of 13 years.  Jon was a guiding force in the lives of his stepchildren Jennifer (Troy) Clauer, Katie (Shad) Ladell, Kevin (Sarah) Haas. His wisdom and humor will be deeply missed by his seven grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He also was survived by Jon’s brothers, Jeffrey A. (Sandi) Lamrouex and Marc S. (Loxxie) Lamrouex, and sister Michele (Leroy) Johnson, and stepbrothers Les Aylsworth and Russ Aylsworth along with several nieces and nephews. All will hold dear the memories of his wisdom and warmth.

Jon’s zest for life was reflected in his numerous interests. As an avid photographer he captured moments of both commercial and natural beauty. His presence as a sideline cheerleader at his grandchildren’s various events – sporting, choir, band, robotics, dance, and theater – were a testament to his unwavering support and pride in their accomplishments.

Traveling, hiking, and kayaking with his beloved wife Joann were some of Jon’s most treasured activities, creating lasting memories in the great outdoors. But perhaps the simplest joys spoke the most of Jon’s character was his furry friend, Merlin.  Long walks were a source of peace and contentment where Jon was known to indulge Merlin with extra treats, a small rebellion against the ordinary that brought joy to both. His love for dogs also had extended to volunteering at No Kill Pet Shelters for dogs.

Jon Mitchell Lamrouex’s life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and service. As we bid farewell to Jon we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. In the words of Isaiah 40:31, “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”  May all find trust in God’s strength and reliance in these times of difficulty.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence D. Lamrouex Jr. and Beverly D. (Schneider) Lamrouex. Stepdaughter Laura L. Jacobson.
