Joyce Ann Messmer

Joyce A. Messmer, 76, Fort Atkinson, died on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Alden Estates of Jefferson.

She was born on April 27, 1937 in Sparta, the daughter of the late Helmer and Evelyn (Stark) Everson.

Joyce married James A. Messmer on April 27, 1963 in Sparta.

She was a graduate of the Bangor High School and later attended Nursing College in Madison.

Joyce had been employed at the former Countryside Home in Jefferson for 35 years as an LPN.

She enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Citizens Center in Fort Atkinson and was a member of the Card Club.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; sons, Paul (Ellen) of Tomah, Peter of West Salem; daughter, Patti (Joel) Templeton of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Megan, Mason and Marshall Messmer and August Templeton; brother, Clark (Karon) Everson of Bangor; sister, Lois Lynch of Cadott; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Also preceding in death was a brother, Gary Everson and a sister, Alice Lafferty.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the Busseyville Community Church with the Rev. Richard B. Lewis officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dunlap Memorial Home and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church
