Kenneth I. Wollin, 88, of Union Grove, formerly of Fort Atkinson, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove.
Kenneth was born on March 9, 1924 in Milwaukee, son of the late John and Eleanor (Kanitz) Wollin. He married Jean Basso on June 30, 1947 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2012.
Kenneth joined the Army and served in WWII. He worked at W.D. Hoard & Sons for 23 years and also volunteered at Fort Memorial Hospital for 14 years. He was a member of the Fort Atkinson Edwin Frohmader VFW Post 1879 and had served as its Secretary/Treasurer and Commander. He also enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada with his VFW friends and going out to eat.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Diane (Rex) Henderson of Wasilla, AK, Debra Dietzman of Fort Atkinson, Jeff Wollin of Milwaukee and Scott (Renee) Wollin of Fort Atkinson; daughter-in-law, Terri Marshall; grandchildren, Tami Thunander, Lance (Amanda) Wollin, Tim Dietzman, Lindie Wollin, Lisa Wollin, Melanie Hatch, Tracy Arevalo, Jessica Wollin and Isaac Wollin; great grandchildren, Sierra and Ava Hatch, Kinsley Wollin and Amaria Ayers. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Michael.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13 at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson. Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the memorial home until time of service. Burial with military honors follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
