Laurie Jane Riddell passed away on May 22, 2026, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran’s Hospital, after a battle with a rare neurological disease.
Laurie was the youngest child of James “Jim” Riddell and Barbara “Barb” Vandre (Sommerville). Born on June 30, 1957, in Dearborn, MI, Laurie and her family later made Fort Atkinson, WI their home.
Laurie is survived by her children: Jeremy (Nicole) Kriedeman of Ashland, WI; Jaimie (David) Hewett of Woodlawn, TN; and Kirstin (Michael) Buchanan of Janesville, WI. Grandchildren Violet Kriedeman, Katherine (Shavarius) Hobbs, Piper and Phoebe Hewett, Robert and Nikita Buchanan. Brothers Dave (Carol) Riddell, Lance (Debra) Riddell, and Rick Riddell. Many nephews, nieces and dear friends.
Laurie was proceeded in death by her parents, as well as stepfather Ralph Vandre; sister in-laws Jackie Riddell and Carol Lentz Riddell; nephews Lance & Brian Riddell.
Laurie’s Family would like to extend a special thank you to both the nurses and staff of Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital of Fort Atkinson, WI and the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran’s Hospital of Madison, WI for all the kindness and wonderful care they provided to her.
Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson, WI, with visitation starting at 10am until the time of the service.
