Leland E. Larsen, 72, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Our House Memory Care in Whitewater.
Leland was born on September 24, 1938 in Stoughton, son of the late Eugene and Ruth (Sundt) Larsen. He married Shirley Priewe Gerhke on June 14, 1956 in Fort Atkinson.
Leland worked for many years at General Motors. He enjoyed working with wood, building tables, cabinets and blue bird houses. He also had a passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and yard work. He was an avid sports fan always watching or listening to the Packers, Badgers and Warhawks play.
Leland is survived by his wife Shirley; sons, Steven (Shelley) Larsen of Fort Atkinson and Brian (Jennie) Larsen of Lodi; grandchildren, Jared, Troy and April Larsen; step grandchildren, Tracy, Chris and Matthew; step great grandchildren, Casey, Mason, Audrey, Vivian and Eva; brother, Lawrence (Barbara) Larsen; sisters, Lois (Jack) Harr and Randene (Jim) Wick; uncle, Arnold (Doris) Sundt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Johns Community Church in Oakland. Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Church until time of service.
Memorials may be made to the church, Rainbow Hospice or to Fort Memorial Hospital.
