Loni Carl Obituary

Loni W. Carl, 81, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012, atthe Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin,surrounded by his loving family.

Loni was born on February 3, 1931, in Kassel, Germany, to Rudolf and Anna Carl. On November 1, 1957, he married Hildegard Borkowski. They celebrated 55 years of marriage one day prior to his death.

In 1963, Loni and Hilda immigrated to Fort Atkinson. During this time, Loni was employed at Jamesway and at Carnation in Jefferson. In 1977, they purchased Dorn's Liquor; which they owned and operated as Carl's Liquor Store until 1992, at which time they both retired.

Loni always had a passion for "hobby farming", loved to travel and was an avid Packers fan and owner.

Loni is survived by his loving wife, Hilda; four children, Michael, Thomas (Leila); Debra (Timothy)Koehler; and Robert (Michelle). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Bradley (Nicole) Carl, Sara (Timothy) Depies; Maddison, Cameron, Elizabeth and Daniel Carl; and Mariah, Ryan, Natalie and Anna Koehler. And one great-granddaughter, Lily Carl. A sister, Rosewitha (Jochen) Langeof Germany; and a brother-in-law, Stephan Christ, also of Germany; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by manyfriends.

The family would like to thank Rainbow Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Loni and his family during his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice.

A Celebration of Loni's life will be held on Sunday, November 11th, 2012, from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the American Legion Dugout, 201 South WaterStreet East, in Fort Atkinson.

Dunlap Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Loni was a loving husband, father,"Opa" and friend. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
