Louise Marie (Kreklow) Kutz, 88 of Fort Atkinson, died peacefully at home with her family around her on Sunday, March 6, 2011.
Born on June 18, 1922 to William and Ruby Kreklow, Louise lived her entire life in Jefferson County. She married Francis Kutz on February 22, 1941. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1970. They had 4 children, Karen Kutz of Janesville, Kathy (Gene) Wakefield of Kenosha, Kay (Norman) Hartwig of Fort Atkinson, Keith (Laramie Hanson) of Cambridge. She had 12 grandchildren, Ron and Richard Bundy; Matt, Laura Wakefield, Marie (Steve) Janiak, Kim Riggs, Jenni (Bo) Hachtel, Ryan (Darcy) Hartwig, Kristopher, Kirk, Kaleb and Kleighton Kutz. She was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, Craig and Roman Bundy, Megan & Josh Janiak, Ashley and Kaylee Burhans, Nathan Riggs, Arielle and Trenton Hachtel, Tanner and Owen Hartwig, and Bobby and Aiden Kutz. She has 1 brother, Wayne (Joanne) Kreklow of Neenah; 2 sisters-in-law, Katherine Kutz & Beverly Kutz and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers William, Walter & Theodore and 2 sisters Frances & Mildred.
Francis and Louise were farmers. They worked the Nadig/Kutz farm (where Culvers is now) until 1963. After they moved to town, Louise was head cook at St. Pauls Lutheran School in Fort Atkinson for many years. After that, she cooked at Countryside Home until her retirement. She helped with the Relay-for-Life chili supper until she was no longer able. Louise made many wonderful friends playing cards at the Senior Center and helping at Our Daily Bread. She was an avid sports fan. Besides watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers & Nascar; she loved watching her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren play sports. She was known by most as Grandma Kutz. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson with Pastors Ethan Steinbrenner and Steve Wilkens co-officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of service.
