Luella Hacht Obituary

Luella M. Hacht of Fort Atkinson passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. She was born March 12, 1916 near Salem South Dakota to the parents of Elmer P. and Mamie M. (Rabenhorst) Fralich. She married Arnold Hacht Sr. of Columbus, WI on June 16th 1935. He died in June of 1971.

Through Bible Study and prayer meetings held in her home in the 1940s she was instrumental in the founding of the Whitewaters Assembly of God Church as well as the Evangelical Center in Fort Atkinson and later the Rock River Assembly of God church in Jefferson.

Prior to her retirement from Moores Seafood Products to which she worked 15 years there; she worked as a janitor at the Jefferson County Home, and many years at the Larson Canning Company. She also worked two years at Jones Dairy Farm. Luella also did washing and ironing for many people as well as housecleaning and babysitting.

She was a member of the AARP 1682 and served 4 terms on the Board of Directors. Luella volunteered on the AARP membership committee and at the Fort Atkinson Nutrition Food Center.

Luella is survived by her daughter Darlene Doty of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Toby Hacht of Las Vegas, NV, Tracy Hans of Lake Mills, Daniel (Stephanie) Doty Sr. of Jeffersonville, IN and Rachel (David) Sikorski of Jeffersonville, IN; great grandchildren, Taylor and Caleb Hans, Daniel Doty Jr. and Levi Doty and a sister, Marlis Fralich of Watertown. She was also preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Arnold (Nancy Blasing) Hacht; parents Elmer and Mamie Fralich; sister and brother-in-law June (Carl) Hatley and great grandchild, Aaron J. Hacht.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at the Dunlap Memorial Home with Rev. Dan Pierce officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. on Thursday at the memorial home until time of service. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
