Margaret Hartman Obituary

Margaret J. Hartman, 84, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Alden at Fort HealthCare.

Margaret was born on February 13, 1928 in Fort Atkinson to the late Earl and Gladys (Rohde) Hinkel. She married Nordahl Hartman in Fort Atkinson on July 31, 1948.

Margaret graduated from Fort Atkinson High School and while attending school she was a telephone operator during the evening hours. Margaret along with her husband Nordie will probably best be remembered for owning club 26 for many years. After retiring from the club, Nordie and Margaret moved to Lake Ripley in Cambridge where they enjoyed many happy years with their family and very dear friends. Margaret was an animal lover, avid bird watcher and a great cook who loved baking award winning apple pies. She was a talented crafter with a passion for knitting and crotcheting. She was a beautiful whistler, often whistling while listening to the piano. She also loved playing the game of marbles as a child, and often played as an adult using those same childhood marbles. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Atkinson.

Margaret will be remembered by her daughters, Cheryl (Nordahl) Wenham and Linda (Kerry) Pederson both of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Jackie (Steve) Prisk, Heather (Jim) Gwaltney, Katelyn (David) Fredrick and Hannah Pederson all of Fort Atkinson and Matthew Pederson of Lake Mills; great grandchildren, Thomas, Tyler and Tyson Prisk, Katelyn and Austin Gwaltney, Lillian and Margaret Fredrick and BreAunna and Owen Pederson; great great granddaughter, Ashland Grace and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Olson and grandchildren Chad and Kim Pederson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Atkinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
