Marilyn R. (Becker) Roenneburg, 67 of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Sunday October 19, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI after a long painful illness.
She was born on December 2, 1957, to William L. and Leola A. (Rittmueller) Becker. Marilyn was number 10 of 13 children. She loved living on the family farm and she loved all animals, especially the horses.
Marilyn was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Peter’s Church in Helenville. She attended St. Peter’s Elementary School in Helenville, and Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills. She married her loving and supportive husband Gordon R. Roenneburg in February of 1978. Gordon passed away in 2010,
She was employed by Countryside Nursing Home in Jefferson for many years until her illness forced her to stop working.
Marilyn is survived by her 2 daughters, Gina Roenneburg and Cassandra (Demetrius) Samuels both of Fort Atkinson. Her grandson Owen Roenneburg, also of Fort Atkinson, who was her caregiver for many years. Siblings Donald (Barb) Becker of Madison, Barb Wintermute of Fort Atkinson, Susan (Frank) Kramer of Helenville, Shirley (Chuck) Schloesser of Fort Atkinson, Carolyn (Duane “Fuzz”) Foerster of Fort Atkinson, Jim (Connie) Becker of Fort Atkinson, Tom (Coral) Becker of Fort Atkinson, Jane (Ken) Staude of Jefferson, Sandy (Layne) Tulledge of North Liberty, IN and Patty (John Biwer) Becker of Jefferson, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers William and Henry, and her husband Gordon.
Marilyn was a devoted Christian who generously supported Crown of Life Christian Academy and was a long time member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.
There will be no funeral per Marilyn’s wishes, instead there will be a private burial in Helenville with Pastor Steinbrenner officiating at a later date.
