Marjorie E. Black

Marjorie E. Black, previously of Fort Atkinson, passed away on March 8, 2025, at Fairhaven in Whitewater, WI.  Marjorie was born on June 24, 1928, in the Township of Mitchell, WI, the daughter of Francis and Christine (Brown) Beggan. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brothers and spouse Harry T. Black.   

She was the beloved mother of Michael Black (Patricia), Dr. Patrick Black (Carol), Dr. Thomas Black (Mary), Cathy Wulfkuhle (Gus), and Maureen Penrose (Craig).  Marjorie was also the grandmother to Melanie (Black) Milligan (Christopher), Timothy Black (Kristina), Dr. Ryan Black, Megan Black, Emily (Wulfkuhle) Hansen (Joseph), Samuel Wulfkuhle (Elizabeth), Claire Penrose, Jack Penrose, and Matthew Penrose.  She also had three great grandchildren, Marjorie Milligan, Gordon Milligan and Samantha Hansen. 

Marjorie retired from Jefferson County Human Services as an Intake Counselor where she worked for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Marjorie loved reading, crossword puzzles and enjoying time with her children and grandchildren.   

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson on Thursday, March 13.  There will be a visitation from 9:00am to 10:00am with a mass to follow.  Private family burial will follow mass. In lieu of flowers or plants, the family asks any donations can be made to Rainbow Hospice or St. Joseph grade school. 

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Rainbow Hospice and the staff at Fairhaven for their compassionate care.
