Marlene J. Carlisle, 85, of Janesville, formerly of Fort Atkinson, passed away Sunday, August, 19, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Madison.
Marlene was born in Sugar Creek Township, daughter of the late John and Frieda (Kestler) Duesterbeck on June 19, 1927. She married Jack Carlisle on October 28, 1950.
Marlene had worked for more than 30 years at Jones Dairy Farm. She was a member of St. Johns Community Church, the Legion Auxiliary for 48 years and a past volunteer at the Fort Hospital.
Marlene will be dearly missed and always remembered for the love and care she took of dad for many years. She was a great lady and a great mother who had a special sense of humor.
Marlene is survived by her children, Gary Buckets Carlisle of Janesville and Nancy Carlisle of Madison; brothers, Jack Duesterbeck of Fort Atkinson and Fernie (Glenda) Duesterbeck of Missouri and sisters, Alice Hills of Burlington and Donna (Ronald) Paff of Janesville. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack and brothers, Bernard, George, Herbert, Vernon and Lester Duesterbeck.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 23 at St. Johns Community Church in the Town of Oakland with Pastor Kevin Butler officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson and from 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church until time of service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
If desired, memorials may be made to St. Johns Community Church.
