Mary F. Stedman

Mary F. Stedman, 96, Fort Atkinson, died on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the Fort Memorial Hospital.

She was born on May 14, 1915 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of the late Henry and Winifred (Schellabarger) Lieberknecht.

Mary married Emory G. Stedman in DesMoines, Iowa. He died on March 29, 2000, following 60 years of marriage.

She was a graduate of the Letts High School, Letts, Iowa and later graduated from Nursing School in DesMoines as a registered nurse

Mary had been employed for 15 years at Meriter Hospital in Madison in the neo-natal department.
She spent her life being a wife, mother, and sister
Mary was a kind, caring, and compassionate person who would do anything she could to help.
She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.

Survivors include a son, David (Lois); grandchildren, Kelly (Gregory) Wood, John (Katie) Stedman, Erika Ketter; great granddaughters, Makayla, Bailey, Kaeli, Emily, and Isabelle; a sister, Jeannette Woodard.
Also preceding in death were two sisters and her twin brother.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell Frees Jr. officiating.

Private entombment will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Monona.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church until the time of service.

The Dunlap Memorial Home is assisting the family.
