Michael Heffron Obituary

Sadly we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Heffron, on July 9, 2025. Mike passed away peacefully in the comfort of his favorite Blackhawk Island fishing spot: the trailer he shared with his longtime friend and partner, Barb.

Born September 2, 1944, Mike was the second child of William and Carole Heffron, who lived in Whitewater at the time. The family later moved to Fort Atkinson where Mike spent his school years and, ultimately, the rest of his life. He was 80 at the time of his death.

He originally worked at Redi-Serv Foods, and later spent many years assisting in construction work, excavation, and shoreline restoration. In his retirement he was custodian at the former Belmont Bar and at American Legion Post 166, aka the Dugout.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, William and Carole (Wolfe), his older brother David Heffron, his younger sister Connie Heffron, and his first wife Margaret (Hake) Heffron.

He is survived by one son, Brent Heffron, two younger brothers, Patrick Heffron and Timothy Heffron, his sister-in-law, Kathleen Heffron, former wife Mona Heffron, and friend and partner Barbara Bryant of Loves Park Illinois.

A private service will be held for family and a few close friends.

Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
