Michael H. Pazen

Michael Howard Pazen, 55, died peacefully on November 23rd after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Mike was born January 5, 1969, the youngest of three to the late Dick and Marlene Pazen. Siblings, Maryann, Bonnie and Mike were raised in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin where he graduated class of 1987 and later earned his certificate as a Designer of Engineering Systems, spending the majority of his working career at UW Madison. Through work, Mike met his soulmate, Darcy (Anderson). Darcy and Mike were together for many years and Mike became a big part of Darcy’s daughter’s lives. Darcy and Mike later wed on June 8, 2013.

Mike was a warrior, battling whatever life threw in his direction - always remaining positive and enjoying the smaller moments in life.  He was a great husband, brother, stepfather, uncle, friend, but his most treasured role of all was PopPop to his grand babies.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Dick Pazen, mother, Marlene Pazen (Blasy), and other loved ones. He will be missed by so many, but especially his loved ones, wife Darcy, stepchildren, Julia (Alec) Mercer, Brooke (Levi) Goudreau, grandchildren Sylvia and Walter, sisters, Maryann  (Chris) Russell and Bonnie Stotz, nephews and nieces, Ben (Lauren) Russell, Matthew (Cassia) Russell, and Rachel Russell, and great nephews Judah and Silas.

A casual celebration of life will be held at the Haumerson’s Pond Warming House in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on Monday, December 9th from 11 am until 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make charitable donations in Mike’s honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
