Michelle Miller Obituary

Madison, WI – Michelle Miller 45 years old died unexpectedly on February 19, 2025.   She battled cancer and serious respiratory illnesses over the past three years.  She continued to fight hard and maintain a positive outlook.

Michelle was born on May 15, 1979, to Duane and Deborah Miller in Burlington, WI. Her family relocated to Fort Atkinson in 1986.

She attended grade school in Burlington and Fort Atkinson.  Michelle went to Fort Atkinson High School where she was Senior Class President and participated in sports and various other activities.  She received All Conference honors in softball and Unanimous All Conference and All State in volleyball.  She went on to play college volleyball at Div II Winona State and UW-Whitewater where she played in the NCAA Div III Final Four and sang the National Anthem for the opening ceremony.   Michelle graduated Magna Cum Laude from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Marketing. She was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.

Michelle was employed as a remote employee for EVERGY in Burlington, KS as a Power BI Developer.  She worked for various other companies in marketing and later in her career utilized her self-taught skills as a business intelligence developer.  She volunteered at The Road Home Dane County and United Way LINC.

Michelle was an extraverted individual and could strike up a conversation with total strangers wherever she went. Her smile could light up a room and her laughter was infectious.  She was dedicated to her family and was always willing to step up when someone needed her help be it a phone call or long-term stay to assist as needed.   Her strong will and “can do” attitude always resulted in success whether it be in sports, the classroom or a work environment.

Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents, several uncles, aunts and cousins. She is survived by her parents Duane and Deborah Miller, brother Ryan Miller (Eau Claire, WI), her bestie furry friend Mario, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
