Patricia Ann Klement, 61, Fort Atkinson, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010, after an 11 month battle with kidney cancer.
She was born in Fort Atkinson on September 28, 1949, the daughter of Henry Jr. and Marjorie (Merriman) Lemke.
Patty married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Klement Sr., on October 12, 1968 at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. They celebrated 42 years of marriage this year.
She was a graduate of the Fort Atkinson High School, class of 1968.
Patty grew up on the Lemke family dairy farm in the Town of Koshkonong. Rural life was all she knew. She and Ron spent the first 26 years of their marriage tending to the Klement family dairy farm. Patty helped with the daily milking, calf chores, hay baling, and held her family close with lots of homemade cooking. After the cows were sold, Patty focused on enjoying life. She enjoyed spending time with her 6 grandchildren, caring for her in-laws and parents, taking trips with friends to casinos, going out to dinner, and trips to Branson. In 2007, she and Ron built their dream home on the original Klement family farm located on Poeppel Road. She truly enjoyed sharing her home with family and friends. She was a positive influence on everyone she knew.
Patty was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort her entire life.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Sr.; children, Ronald Jr. (Deb) Klement of Fort Atkinson and Susan (Matt) Koning of Amboy, IL; mother, Marge Lemke and mother-in-law Jean Klement of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Nathan, Joshua, and Kolton Klement, Lea, Cassidy, and Lane Koning; brothers, Allen Butch (Chris) Lemke Sr. and Ken Lemke of Fort Atkinson; brother-in-law, Rolland Klement and sister-in-law Debra (Mike) Buchanan of Fort Atkinson; uncle Robert C. Lemke and aunts, Mildred Lemke and Dorothy Lemke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Patty was preceded in death by her father Henry Lemke and father-in-law Robert L. Klement.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010, at 11 a.m., at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael D. Duncan and Rev. Paul A. Scharrer officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the church and after10 a.m. on Friday until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to the church.
