Phyllis E. Gess

Phyllis E. Gess, 83, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Wednesday, January 04, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
Phyllis was born on May 28, 1928, daughter of the late Orville and Edna (Hooper) Holcomb in Palmyra. She married August Bud Gess on December 4, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2007.
Phyllis is survived by two sons, Charles (Joan) and Paul (Cindy) both of Fort Atkinson; five daughters, Georgia Flaig of San Antonio, TX, Jacqueline Gess, Eileen Gess, Rose (Scott) Burnette and Jennifer Gess all of Fort Atkinson; 11 grandchildren, Todd (Christine), Kevin (Jenny), Craig, Jonathan, Brian, Mark (Danielle), Kristie (John), Katie, Amanda, Melodie and Kelly; 13 great-grandchildren, Tristan, Adriea, Haylee, Devin, Savannah, Sean, Kyle, Craig CJ, Evin, Kennedy, Quentin, Jackson and Hunter and a brother, Arnold Ozzie (Sylvia) Holcomb of Palmyra. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Tanner Flaig and brother, George Holcomb.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2011 at the Dunlap Memorial Home with Rev. Dan Yeazel officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. on Monday at the memorial home until time of service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
