Richard Luebke Obituary

Richard D.(Dick) Luebke, 67, of Johnson Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 of liver cancer at his home with his family by his side.

Dick was born on October 21, 1943 in Fort Atkinson to the late Albert and Kathryn (Wittmann) Luebke. He married Irene LaBarge on October 29, 1966 in Vesper, WI.

Dick worked for 30 years for the Oconomowoc School District. Prior to that, he worked at Borg Industries in Jefferson. He also owned and operated a tavern business in Oconomowoc. Dick was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Jefferson.

Fishing was Dicks passion in retirement. He was also an avid hunter. He enjoyed spending time camping and fishing at his camper at Lake Mason Campground. Dick loved to golf with his wife and son. After golfing for only a couple of years, Dick had a hole in one at Pinecrest Golf Course in Wisconsin Dells.

Dick is survived by his wife, Irene of Johnson Creek: children, Rick (Jackie) Luebke of Fort Atkinson, Kristine (Jim) Pfeifer of Fort Atkinson and Russell Luebke of Jefferson: grandchildren, Ashley and Nathan Pfeifer, Kelsey Schmitz and Zachary Luebke. He is also survived by one sister, Sharon Storlie of Whitewater and one brother, Kenneth (Grace) Luebke of Summersville, MO. He was predeceased in death by his parents, and a brother, Albert Luebke Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 31, 2010 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson and from 10 am on Friday at the church until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.

Memorials may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church or School, Rainbow Hospice or to Tomorrows Hope.
