Scott G. Taylor

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Gordon Taylor of Cambridge, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on June 22, 2026, at the age of 66 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Scott was born on March 21, 1960, in Fort Atkinson, WI, to proud parents Lane and Judith Taylor. He grew up with a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life, a gift passed down to him by his loving family. The memories of his maternal and paternal grandparents, who predeceased him, were always cherished and honored in his heart.

Scott’s journey through life was one marked by dedication, kindness, and a thirst for knowledge. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1978, then embarked on a fulfilling career with General Motors in Janesville, WI.

A man of varied interests, Scott’s love for racing was unmatched. Enthralled by the thrill of open-wheel racing, he traversed the Midwest to watch midget races, a testament to his enthusiasm and passion for the sport. NASCAR races were also a source of great enjoyment for him. In his teenage years, Scott’s prowess in trap shooting was remarkable; he became the youngest member of the Wisconsin State Trap Team, winning numerous accolades and participating in the esteemed Grand Nationals. He traveled from Canada to Florida and everywhere in between winning many awards shooting trap. He was a lifelong member of the Trap Association.

Beyond his hobbies, Scott was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He had a profound love for nature, wildlife and dogs, especially Dixie, who brought him immense joy. An avid reader, Scott delighted in sharing his knowledge with others, always inspiring those around him with his insights and stories.

Scott leaves behind his cherished parents, Lane and Judith Taylor, and his sister, Kris Blaesing, along with her husband, Dan. Their enduring love and support were a cornerstone of his life, and he will be missed deeply by them and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In this time of grief, the family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Their unwavering compassion and dedication provided immense comfort and care to Scott and his family, for which they are eternally grateful.

As we bid farewell to Scott, let us celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man who touched the lives of many. May his memory be a blessing and his legacy of kindness and love continue to inspire us all. “When you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.”

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 454 East Church Road, Cambridge, WI 53523 with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Cake, coffee and lemonade will follow in friendship hall.
