Sydney G. Boyer, 93, of Fort Atkinson, died Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Sydney was born on February 3, 1919 son of the late Basil and Ruth (Beam) Boyer in Paris, Missouri. He married Marguerite Dvorak on July 25, 1964 in Berwyn, IL.
Sydney was quietly proud of his service to his country as a marine during WWII, a part of the 3rd Division in the Pacific. He was a loyal friend, loving father beloved of all his children and grandchildren and a devoted husband.
Sydney is survived by his wife, Marguerite of Fort Atkinson; children, Scott (Gillian) Boyer of Naperville, IL, Susan (Roy) Hidlebaugh of Cypress, TX, Dr. Paul (Beth) Dvorak of Madison, Faith Risany of Naperville, IL and Dannie (Richard) Lappen of Madison; sister-in-law Mary Boyer; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a sweet Yorkie named Johnny. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Merlyn (Virginia), James Clare (Lois) and Robert Boyer and son-in-law Dennis Risany.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, at the First Congregational Church, 31 W. Milwaukee Ave. in Fort Atkinson with Rev. Chris Buckingham-Taylor officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of service. Family and friends are invited to lunch and a time of fellowship after the service in the church's Plymouth Hall.
