Terry L. Klingaman, 72, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
Terry was born on September 1, 1953, in Richland Center son of the late Preston and Dorothy (Brown) Klingaman and graduated from Burlington High School in 1971.
Terry devoted more than 30 years of his working life to Rockwell Apartments, where he became a familiar and trusted presence. He took pride in his work and in being someone others could count on.
Outside of work, Terry enjoyed the fellowship and fun of playing euchre with the North Shore Euchre Club in his brother’s man cave. Those gatherings brought him joy, laughter, and good company, and he treasured the time spent sharing cards and conversation with friends. He also enjoyed going to tractor pulls. Terry had a special interest in International tractors and collected vintage toy tractors. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter
Terry was loved by everybody. He had a generous heart that welcomed others without hesitation. He would never turn anyone down, and that simple truth spoke volumes about the kind of man he was. Whether offering help or a listening ear, Terry gave freely of himself. His kindness left a lasting mark on family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Terry is survived by his brothers, Verlin Klingaman of Lone Rock and Edward (Debbie) Klingaman of Fort Atkinson; sisters, June Spencer of Rockbridge and Dorothy Faust of Lone Rock and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna Juris.
Funeral services will be held at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Woodstock Cemetery in Bloom Township in Richland County.
The family would like to thank SSM Hospice and St. Mary’s Hospital for the wonderful care given to Terry.
