Violet Marie Metzker

Violet Marie Metzker of Fort Atkinson was born July 25, 1921 and died July 25, 2012. She was 91 years old. She died at the Rainbow Hospice facility in Johnson Creek, of natural causes.

Vi was born in Fort Atkinson, daughter of the late Robert and Amy Buchanan. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School and was married to Elmer Metzker in March of 1945. She has a sister, Doris Perkin, currently living in Fort Atkinson and two half brothers, Dean and Earl Trotts, both of whom preceded her in death.

She and Elmer moved to Lugerville, Wisconsin where they owned and operated Metzkers Bar. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary both in Fort Atkinson and Phillips. She was also a member of Grace United Church in Fort Atkinson.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara Sexton (husband Timothy) of Raton, New Mexico and Julie Lizak (husband Edward) of Fort Atkinson. She has 11 Grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, her daughter Marilyn Gago and her grandson Andy Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm on Monday, July 30th at Grace United Church, 1631 Janesville Ave, Fort Atkinson. Friends may call from 6 pm at the church until time of service. There will be light refreshments following the service.

Interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Phillips, Wisconsin on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice, 147 W. Rockwell St. Jefferson, WI 53549.
