William Pomplin, Jr. Obituary

William Herman Pomplin, Jr. age 78 of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed into Jesus’ loving arms on Thursday, April 24, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease attributed to Agent Orange exposure during his service in Vietnam.

Born in Beaver Dam on August 25, 1946, to Bill Sr. and Angie Pomplin, ‘Billy’ grew up in Waterloo, Wisconsin, attending St. Joseph Catholic School and Waterloo High School where he was an active participant in everything from athletics to student council. Following graduation in 1964, he attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater where he studied accounting/business, playing football all 4 years of college. Shortly after graduation he married his college sweetheart, Pat. Later that year he was drafted to military service where he proudly served his country as Army Pay Disbursement Specialist at Camron Bay, Vietnam.

He was a strong, loving and dedicated family man within his household as well as in his faith community. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat; daughter Shelly Godar (Chris); son Matthew Pomplin; daughter Lacy Fatajo; and daughter Amy Kraczek (Joseph); and 8 grandchildren.

A small graveside service with military honors will be held May 22, 2025. There will also be a larger celebration of his life to be announced at a later date.

Thank you to the steady and attentive care of the nursing staff of Agrace Hospice and The View of Johnson Creek.
