Nathan T.W. Dunlap

Funeral Director, Owner

I grew up living above the funeral home, which meant that welcoming families into our home was a normal part of life. From a young age, I understood and respected the importance of funerals and having the chance to honor someone’s life.

Although I was part of a family business, I was lucky enough that my parents never pushed me; they encouraged me to pursue whatever career would make me happy.

After high school, I went to UW-Whitewater, knowing I was interested in business but not sure where my path might lead. The more I learned and grew, the more I knew that I wanted to help others. That drive to be there for people in their time of need helped me realize that the funeral home was indeed the right choice.

I completed my studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. I then attended Milwaukee Area Technical College and received my degree in Funeral Service. After my education and training, I returned to Fort Atkinson and Dunlap Memorial Home to follow in my father’s and grandfather’s footsteps. I’ve been dedicated to my work here ever since.

I’m lucky enough to be married to my best friend, Emily, and together we have an incredible son, Graham, who everyone says is my mini-me!

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, playing golf and, of course, watching Badger football. I even like a nap when I have the time — although that doesn’t seem to happen often enough! I’m also active in the local community as a member of the First Congregational Church, the Lions Club and the Optimist Club.

It’s with great pride and honor that I serve my community in a meaningful way and continue the traditions my family founded.
